MyTreo.net does not pay royalties to developers

MyTreo.net, a Palm software reseller, has not paid developer royalties for more than a year now. Tadd Rosenfeld, who was responsible for accounting, did not reply to e-mails. While Palm developers were trying to reach him somehow, his colleages were answering: "Tadd is travelling now". The only thing we finally heard from MyTreo.net owners was their promise to make a final royalty calculation and to work out a payment schedule. That has not been done.

In the newsletter sent on August 14th 2008, they said: "Over the next two weeks we will be contacting you again and providing a full statement of your account detailing the products you have sold to-date and the royalties owed along with details of how and when these payments will be made. We appreciate your patience in receiving this information which will take us a couple of weeks to finalise with our bookkeepers." Now several months passed and no reply from them. My e-mails again remain unanswered. Chris Nolan does not return phone calls, there is only an answering machine there. The following developers have also suffered from non-payments:

We earned our money, but we did not receive them. All revenues from our software went to those dishonest resellers from mytreo.net.

American venture capitalist steals money from European and Asian developers

I have found Tadd Rosenfeld profile on linkedin.com site. He does not feel ashamed. He safely mentions that he is the principal of MyTreo.net, that he runs "one of the fastest-growing private businesses in America". Now Tadd is traveling and still going to shows (CES 2009) and still posting videos about Palm Pre on mytreo.net web-site.

MTDN Holdings LLC

(Consumer Electronics industry)

April 2004 — Present (4 years 9 months)

MTDN Holdings LLC (DBA "SmartPhone People") was formed to develop e-commerce stores for online smartphone communities. Since inception, the company served over a hundred thousand retail customers.

This year MTDN joined forces with Smartphone Experts, one of the fastest growing private businesses in America.

He calls his MTDN business "one of the fastest growing private businesses in America" but forgets to mention that he has ignored developers' e-mails for more than a year now and has not paid our money. No money for us, the developers. All our royalties went to that disgusting, "one of the fastest growing private businesses in America".

By the way, that private business does not even have accounting! They promised to calculate royalties more than half a year ago, but their accountant (I now do not believe if they have one at all) has not done that at all. Instead, they just erased and purged all the developers' accounts and took our money. That's their accounting.

There are other businesses which Tadd Rosenfeld runs. Be aware! One day you will be also deceived, like we all are.

It was very easy for Tadd Rosenfeld to take our money and to remain unpunished. Royalties from tens or even hundreds european or asian developers amount to a considerable sum. There are almost no chances that any particular developer will fly to the USA to sue that 'business' for the sake of two or three thousands USD (or even for the sake of several hundreds USD).
